With the change of plan from the soap opera trailer to the music video i have had to do further research into how to construct a hardcore video.
as i used to be well into my hardcore music i know the basics of how a video is peiced together but wanted to get a few examples to influence the editing style.
Here is an advert for Westfest (Hardcore) 2010 which is the uk's biggest dance festival of the year and attracts thousands of people the editer uses quick shots of important people and at the end of each bar another shot comes in so it's a suttle kind of clever where if you wern't looking for it you wouldn't see it.
The opposite it seems in the modern world of hardcore is drum and bass but as they come under the same musical family the video's are very similar - apart from more text the editer again uses quick flashes of footage of the main attractions.(Adny C, Friction Mc's GQ etc etc.)
interestingly enough ive' just had a look through both video's back to back and they each tell a story - First you are shown footage of the surrounding area which is the hills around the Royal bath and west showground. Secondly you are shown footage of the rave itself and finally text comes onto screen showing how you can get involved in such and event so i think we could add this to the end of our music video (how to purchase, perhaps where the artist is touring)
finally Styles & Breeze - Amigos is a song that i have enjoyed since my days as a hardcore listener however there isn't a music video for the hardcore mix of it so i have chosen the official club music video
In the video styles and breeze are talked about as being car jackers. an attractive woman is seen driving a ferrari to a club, while she is insde dancing (once again a music video using sex appeal to attract interest) her car is being robbed and although it is farfetched an automatic driving system scares the robbers and parks her car back in front of the club once again establishing equilibrium. Even music video's have narrative.
